Facebook’s Brilliant but Evil design

I found this article bookmarked a few months ago. As it was placed under category “Prototyping” I decided to post it here. A lot of “do and don’t” on building social network. It is a must read article before starting on prototyping any social network.

Seems wired, but I never thought beloved Facebook gets so much profit from us, dear user of internet, social networks, blogs and twitter like places.  I will be short in my introduction.

But now, with the addition of social advertising on Facebook, an economic element comes into play. Facebook isn’t just showing us information about what our friends are doing as a gift, it’s showing us information in exchange for money. They’ve altered the state of the relationship.
